Lake Elsinore is trying to change the code for additional housing units and continues to stick to new business applications for cannabis

Valley News / Courtesy Photo Lake Elsinore City Council discussed changes to Title 17 of the Lake Elsinore Municipal Code regarding additional housing units at its meeting on Tuesday March 9th. Justin Kirk, assistant director of community development at Lake Elsinore, got in touch and gave a presentation on the topic on behalf of the staff. “The update to our community code addresses several state laws that were passed over the course of 2020 and 2021,” said Kirk. “These measures limit the ability of the local jurisdiction to regulate certain aspects of residential units in terms of size, quantity, setbacks and parking. “The city retains limited discretion as it can limit the maximum amount, size and location and set objective standards
