ANN ARBOR – A new cannabis dispensary has opened between Water Hill and Kerrytown at 811 N. Main St. in Ann Arbor.
New Standard Ann Arbor is the eighth supply center to open in Michigan under the name New Standard – a cannabis startup founded in 2020.
The store is open on Friday and has special offers and promotions on the opening weekend. According to a press release, customers who show their Michigan soccer ticket will receive a Maize & Blue New Standard T-shirt and free pre-roll on Saturday while supplies last. Specials and discounts continue until Labor Day.
During the opening weekend, the shop will also have drawings for gift cards from local companies ready. For every purchase made between September 3 and 6, guests will receive one ticket to enter the raffle for gift cards from The Gandy Dancer, BTB Burrito, Zingerman’s, Today Clothing, Detroit Cookie Co. and others.
“New Standard has had an incredible year expanding retail across the state of Michigan,” said Howard Luckoff, New Standard CEO and co-founder, in a statement. “We are very excited to open our eighth Michigan location in Ann Arbor.
“We have met many of our new neighbors as well as people from all over the world who are returning to games and events in this great community.”

New Standard Ann Arbor offers medicinal and adult cannabis with a variety of products and accessories.
“Our team, along with the Stabb family, the co-founders of New Standard Ann Arbor, bring together years of cannabis and community experience to create a thoughtful, curated and comfortable approach for the cannabis connoisseur, first-time user and everyone in between.” said Lucoff in a statement.
“New Standard is just that and sets a new standard for the cannabis experience. We can’t wait to share with the Ann Arbor community what our team has perfected over the past year across the state. “
“Everything about Ann Arbor is alive and it’s very special for us to bring the new standard of cannabis culture to this community,” said Eric Stabb, co-founder and alum of the University of Michigan, in a statement. “This year, too, our team will be ready for all your tailgating needs on Football Saturdays. This city, its people and those who travel here for game day give Ann Arbor a special energy that is part of their heart and soul. “
The New Standard Ann Arbor has in-store customer parking and offers roadside pickup.
Later that month, New Standard is hosting a block party with live music and food trucks.
“Each New Standard supply center carries a carefully curated mix of Michigan’s emerging cannabis crop along with a variety of the most popular and innovative forms of cannabis,” Luckoff said in a statement. “When we greet customers at the New Standard facility, product choices are aided by our warm, versatile, comfortable, educational, and engaging environment.”
