The Barbados Medicinal Cannabis Licensing Authority (BMCLA) and the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Council (TVET) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) this morning allowing Barbadians to obtain Level 2 and 3 certification for growing medical cannabis.
The chairman of the board of the BMCLA, Dr. Shantal Munro-Knight said the Vocational Education Council was one of the places they turned to when talks about starting a medical cannabis industry in Barbados took place.
Additionally, Munro-Knight said they wanted to launch other initiatives to grow the industry as an inclusive industry, and this would allow them to build the necessary capacity for barbadians who wanted to participate in the industry.
Two weeks ago, the BMCLA and the University of the West Indies signed a letter of intent to enable research and development. (OUT)
