Stevie Van Zandt announced that he has launched his own line of cannabis products under the name Little Steven’s Underground Apothecary. Unfortunately, Van Zandt’s product can only be found in Massachusetts – Holyoke and Lee to be precise – as cannabis is completely legal there.
“The United States may be the only country in the world that regards health care, both physical and mental, as an afterthought,” Van Zandt wrote in a statement. “Little Steven’s Underground Apothecary is designed to combat this problem by focusing on natural, holistic remedies. Some will help you relax, others will help you recharge your batteries, and all will help you take control of your own wellbeing. “
Van Zandt expressed his desire to spread awareness and reduce disinformation and stigma around cannabis. He wrote that he hoped to help “stop unjust criminalization for a plant that not only does a lot of good, but has proven almost as important as art to people’s wellbeing and quality of life during Covid-19” .
Meg Sanders, CEO of Canna Provisions, said, “You don’t have to smoke cannabis or even use it to support national legalization …” she continued, “But for those who do use it, Little Steven wanted to be sure that It’s approachable, low-THC, high-CBD cannabis that is less about the recreational high and more for people seeking the benefits of cannabis and cannabinoids like high-CBD cannabis for the mind and body . “
Ten percent of all profits from Van Zandt’s Little Steven’s Underground Apothecary are donated to the National Organization for Marijuana Legalization.
